The part that is specific to this service
What a proof does and does not say
A proof is a signed statement that, on a stated date, someone presented a government-issued mobile driver's license to us through a supported wallet, and asked us to record that they hold a named account on a named platform.
A proof does not prove that the person controls that account. We never visit the account, never contact the platform, and never check anything there. What makes a proof mean something is that it was published on the account itself: only whoever controls the account can post it there. A proof found anywhere else says nothing about that account, and anyone relying on one should confirm they found it in the right place.
A proof is not an identity check on you. It does not say your name, your age, or anything else about you unless you chose to add it. Nobody reading it learns who you are.
What it cannot rule out, stated plainly
We verify a credential, not a body. We cannot detect someone using a license that is not theirs, someone who has handed their account to another person, or someone acting on another's instructions. A proof raises the cost of operating at scale, because each account still needs a distinct real government credential behind it and one credential can only make a limited number of proofs. It is not a guarantee about any individual, and must not be presented as one.
One person, one license
You may only present a credential that was issued to you. Using someone else's, or obtaining proofs on another person's behalf, is a breach of these terms and we may revoke every proof involved.
What you publish is your responsibility
If you add your own details to a proof, you are publishing them. They are shown marked as unverified and written by you. Do not put anything there you would not post publicly, and do not put anything there that is untrue, unlawful, or about somebody else. We may revoke a proof carrying such content.
Proofs renew, and your link does not change
Each individual proof is valid for a limited period and is re-issued automatically before it lapses, at the same address. The link you publish keeps working without you doing anything. We may re-issue a proof outside that schedule where we need to correct something. Re-issuing never changes what platform or account a proof is about.
Revocation, and why revoked links still work
You can revoke any proof at any time, and we may revoke one for breach of these terms, for abuse, or where required. A revoked link keeps resolving and says clearly that it is revoked, rather than disappearing. A missing page is indistinguishable from a proof that never existed, which would help someone who wanted a withdrawn claim to look merely broken.

By using IRLProof you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Eligibility
You must be old enough to hold a government-issued driver's license or state ID in your jurisdiction, and must have the legal capacity to enter this agreement.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- present a credential that was not issued to you, or that you are not entitled to use;
- attempt to obtain proofs for accounts you do not control;
- use the service to impersonate any person or organisation;
- publish unlawful, harassing, or deceptive content in a proof;
- attempt to circumvent the limits on how many proofs a credential may create;
- probe, scan, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service;
- use automated means to create accounts or proofs.
Availability
The service is provided as is and as available. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it. Where we can, we will give notice before doing anything that would break published links.
No warranty
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on a proof by you or by anyone else. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Your content
You keep ownership of anything you add to a proof. You grant us the permission needed to sign, store, and publish it as part of that proof, for as long as the proof exists.
Our content
The service, its software, and its branding remain ours. These terms grant no licence to them beyond using the service as intended.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and will change the date at the top. Continued use after a change means you accept it. Material changes will be announced on the site.
